Interstate 94

Bismarck to Menoken

I-94 westbound from the east Bismarck interchange to east of the Menoken interchange, mileposts 162.36 to 172.126, has reconstruction work continuing from the shoulder, according to the North Dakota Department of Transportation's ND Roads listing. All lanes are open with no posted delays or width limit, and drivers are asked to use caution when workers are present. The listing runs from March 30 through Friday, Nov. 20.

Mandan and Morton County

Memorial Highway and Main Street, Mandan

Main Street and Memorial Highway/Mandan Avenue is switching to two left-turn lanes from eastbound Mandan Avenue and from westbound Memorial Highway onto Main Street, with the new setup expected to open as early as Tuesday evening, Nov. 3, NDDOT said. Watch the new lane markings and stay in your lane through the turn. Once crews finish this season's remaining work, five lanes will stay open at normal speeds all winter. The Oct. 23 project newsletter says stormwater work near 3rd Street SE continues through November and is not expected to affect traffic. Questions go to the project hotline, 701-667-1033.

First Street NW, downtown Mandan

First Street NW, between Sixth and Fourth avenues NW, is in the last weeks of its rebuild. The city's Nov. 2 project newsletter lists Main Street as the primary detour and Second Street as the secondary one. The week of Nov. 9 brings seeding and planter landscaping, bollard installation and temporary striping in Phase 4. Completion is set for Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Crews have been working daily and through weekends, and the projected opening is Monday, Nov. 9, weather dependent, according to the Burleigh County Highway Department. Paving was scheduled for late this week, followed by topsoil and seeding. The county's detour map shows the route. Contact: Casey Einrem, 701-204-7748.

Bismarck streets

132nd Street NE bridge

The bridge on 132nd Street NE, about 1 3/4 miles north of 201st Avenue NE, remains restricted to 7 tons gross vehicle weight and 12 feet wide until further notice, the county said in February.

Later: Memorial Highway work resumes in spring 2027, rebuilding the stretch from Riverwood Avenue SE to 32nd Avenue SE, according to NDDOT. Bismarck plans a 2027 project on parts of Front Avenue and 5th Street that will make permanent changes at that intersection, and the city's closure map lists the all-way stop trial through May 31, 2027.
