Map of Eastern Oregon road work Nov. 6 to 15: Pendleton, La Grande, Wallowa, Baker City, I-84 Exit 356 near Huntington and west of Ontario.

Friday, Nov. 6, through Sunday, Nov. 15, 2026

The westbound Interstate 84 Exit 356 off-ramp to OR 201 east of Huntington stays closed around the clock, with ODOT estimating it reopens Monday, Nov. 9, the same day a 16-foot width limit there is due to end. Downtown Baker City closes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, for the Veterans Day Parade, and Adams Avenue in La Grande closes from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 11, for that city's parade. I-84 at Pendleton is still down to single lanes in both directions near the Rieth Road and Southgate interchanges.

Interstate 84

Pendleton: Rieth Road and Southgate interchanges, mileposts 207 to 210

I-84 near Pendleton still has shoulder and single-lane closures in both directions between milepost 207 and milepost 210, at the Rieth Road and Southgate (US 395) interchanges, with a speed reduction through the work zone for crossover construction and possible paving, according to ODOT TripCheck. ODOT lists the delay as under 20 minutes. The Rieth Interchange and Umatilla River Bridges project page puts the speed limit at 55 mph and scheduled daytime crossover paving during the week of Nov. 2. Repairs to four bridges at mileposts 208 and 209 follow in 2027. An end date for this year's lane closures is not posted.

La Grande: North Spruce Street bridges, mileposts 258.3 to 261.56

I-84 just west of La Grande no longer shows the single-lane closures listed last week. TripCheck now lists only intermittent shoulder closures eastbound and westbound while the contractor finishes cleanup. The North Spruce Street bridges project page says crossover construction is finished, lane closures were to be removed by Nov. 1, and shoulder closures may come and go between Exit 259 at Oro Dell and the OR 82 overpass. Bridge repairs remain scheduled for 2027.

Huntington to Farewell Bend: paving, mileposts 347 to 368

I-84 from about a mile east of Huntington to milepost 368 has single-lane and ramp closures in both directions, with possible crossover traffic, for daytime paving and possible striping, TripCheck reports. Closed lanes may vary, delays run under 20 minutes, and drivers should watch for wet paint. The Farewell Bend to North Fork Jacobsen Gulch project page describes the setup for the week of Nov. 2: traffic in the right lane each way between Farewell Bend (Exit 353) and Exit 356, and on Three Mile Hill, between mileposts 356 and 360, all traffic on the eastbound side, with two lanes uphill eastbound and one lane downhill westbound. ODOT expects both patterns to stay until early November. The project, listed in ODOT's June 2026 project schedule for completion in October 2027, repaves 16 miles from the Baker and Malheur county line at milepost 352 east. The Malheur County part of this stretch is on Mountain time.

West of Ontario, milepost 374

Westbound I-84 about 3 miles west of Ontario still has single-lane closures while crews work, TripCheck reports, with delays under 20 minutes. Hours and end date: not posted. This area is on Mountain time.
